Some people argue that it is a waste of money to buy up-to-date clothes, instead they should spend money on clothes in more effective way. I totally agree with this point of view. To begin with, there are a variety of reasons why buying fashionable clothes is considered as a wasteful action. Firstly, it is undeniable that this kind of clothes might cost an arm and a leg. Therefore, spending a great deal of money on them is not definitely a wise choice, especially for youngsters who are struggling to earn a living. In reality, some designer labels from LV or Mango can be valued up to several years of working of blue-collar workers. Secondly, people merely dress in the up-to-date clothes on special occasions such as wedding receptions or important events. It would be ridiculous if they wore them at the ordinary parties. As a result, it is not effective for them to keep up with the latest fashion. On the other hand, I believe that it would be beneficial for consumers if they bought and used their clothes wisely. The first reason is that they can save a huge amount of the money for other prioritizing things. Obviously, there are various concerns in life, such as education or accommodation, which are more essential than clothing. Furthermore, the main purpose of clothes is eventually to protect one’s bodies and make them look more elegant. Instead of wearing in pricey clothes, being well dressed could also show off their fashionable trend and their wealth. In conclusion, it seems to me that spending too much money on fashionable clothes is wasteful and there would be many merits if they wore clothing wisely. (292 words)
