Now living in high-rise apartment blocks is a very good option for a lot of people because rent and monthly expenses are much cheaper than living in a house. Between all of these advantages, the main weakness is that community spirit is not always present in people’s life, who are living in a flat. A lot of apartments are in rent and permanently the neighbours are different and it is very complicated to maintain a community spirit while the neighbours are changing every month. Children's playground is the only place where parents and their kids can meet each other, but instead families who are living in a house can hang out in more different and attractive ways, like gathering at BBQ, which greatly strengthens relationships. In my country, community spirit is more common in countryside life. When people are moving to their new house, neighbours are inviting them to them. They are preparing a lot of food and serve new neighbours with home wine. The moldavian meeting gesture is very similar with american one, when neighbours come with a home pie to the newcomers and are inviting them to a dinner. In conclusion I can state that, as well as living in high-rise apartment block and in the house have their pros and cons, but community spirit is present everywhere, it just depands on neighbours and how good are the realtionships between them but not where people live.
