Some people believe that longer prison sentences are the best ways to decrease crime while others believe that there are alternative ways to decrease crime. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Crime is one of the most common issues in recent time. Government always tries to reduce the crime rate and they have developed many punishments like prison, capital punishment, etc. But in my opinion, according to crime other punishment than prison are better option for take control of crime rate. My preference is elaborated in this essay with appropriate examples. Discussing the former opinion, id crime is very serious or big then capital punishment is better than prison. Government catch all criminal and lock them into jail mostly. There is chance that many criminals meet each other and may they create community. And after bail from jail, they can plan for take revenge from government. For that revenge they can commit more danger crime than old one. For example, two years ago, in Washington, three criminals bailed and they plan for revenge. They hijacked plan and crashed in business market where many innocent people lost their lives. In contrast, prison punishment can become more efficient if government arrange some type of education in prison. Most of criminals do not have enough knowledge. So, they can not find job. Consequently, they perform crime for money. But government arrange in-jail education system in which they teach buisness skills. So, they think about work in any paying job. For instance, in France they have education system in prison. In which, they teach new skills to crime attempters. And survey shows more than 90% criminals find some jobs and they have better life. To sum up, criminal should punished according what type of crime they attempt. However, we should give a chance to everyone for regret their mistakes. So, prison is reliable punishment if government provide good knowledge to criminal in prison.
