Although it has both a positive and negative impact on society, the disadvantages of media, in my opinion, outweigh the advantages. Firstly, the existence of the media encourages the distribution of misleading news. Many people utilize the media to spread false information because of its ability to reach a large number of people. As a result, inappropriate and exaggerated news spreads across society, creating an atmosphere of fear and despair. For example, inaccurate information about a celebrity's private life often goes viral on social media platforms, namely Facebook or Instagram. Furthermore, the media is to blame for fostering individual's feelings of rage as well as immorality. For instance, there are numerous TV shows featuring a great deal of chaos and violence. Such programs portray a negative picture of society and, as a result, harm individuals' mentality, especially teenagers, and are the motivation for lawbreaking. However, it is also reasonable to believe that the media is beneficial in various ways. Thanks to easy access to media, nowadays, people can keep up with current events and news, both national and global ones. Moreover, since the media covers almost every aspect of life, people can find the things they are interested in, and make a subscription not to miss any new features. To conclude, nowadays, people can get exposed to many sources of media, namely televisions, radios, and the Internet. Even though, in some aspects, this trend can benefit people, generally, the disadvantages are still more significant.
