Since the 20th century technological advances have replaced people in the workplace. Today’s technology sees this process happening at a greater rate and is increasingly responsible for unemployment. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement? Write at least 250 words.

In the 20th century, the real journey of human technological invention has started. Since then and until today, technological advancements like internet, robotics and chat bots kept progressing steadily. Meanwhile, some believe it is one of the greatest leap humans have ever done. Some argue such claim is wrong and technology has become a danger and been seen as accountable for unemployment. Personally, I think that indeed Tech is a danger to humans’ future in terms of job opportunities, and this will be discussed in depth through this essay. Chronologically, starting from 20th century personal computers were invented together with wireless connections like WIFI and Bluetooth. This was the real revolution which many saw as a blessing. Indeed, connected globally -by internet network- personal computers played a major role in linking the world together and transforming it to a small village. Through different websites, and resources research was made easier and faster. Technology played major role in human communication and social life. Thus, tech provided new job opportunities related to IT field and the list of engineers’ specialties is long. However, in contrast to what it has been said, later in the 21st technological advancement has become a curse after the invention of chat GBT and robotics. It has been explained through the first part that technology has brought people together, though later chat GBT, unfortunately, substituted real human interactivity. It also undermined a whole job list of customer service specialists, translators and even writers! These job opportunities were replaced by chat bots answering coldly to any question. Personally, I have been laid off from my previous job as a customer satisfaction specialist due to the fact that my company bought a new chat bot technology specialized in dealing with such customers’ issues. Additionally, robotics replaced workforce needed in manufactures. As an example, cars’ supplying chains used to be the biggest employer which needed human workforce in the market. Sadly, the same supplier is now using automated robotics to convey the job used to be done by humans. Many families lost their income due to those mentioned above inventions. Eventually, technology is invading our world in a very fast and frightening pace. Inventors and companies who are working on those advancements should be careful. Humanity needs to know its limits if they do not want that robotics and chat bots take over and control us at the end of the day.
