Internet and social media have become an integral part of our everyday lives and their popularity as ways of communication and interaction has significantly increased over the past years. What is it, that makes online shopping, communication and entertainment so attractive and where will this trend lead our society to? To begin with, it is undeniable that internet gives people the opportunity to access everything they want in a fast way without having to put on any effort. For example, many people instead of spending time in order to go to a shopping mall and wait in line to try on clothing or pay, prefer to order their clothing online simply by clicking buttons, in the comfort of their homes. What's more, communication and social interactions seem way easier especially for younger populations than meeting or talking to others face-to-face. What are the benefits? Well, not only must one never leave their house but also has control of the interaction with others and can avoid feeling exposed. I strongly feel, that using internet for facilitating our lives is extremely significant, but its over-use has a negative impact on our social lives and can lead to more and more people being isolated from their friends and family. Futhermore, even when people meet and talk to each other, they seem to constantly check on their chats or instagram feed without being present and enjoyng the moment. To sum up, although internet and online communication play a tremendous and significant role in our daily lives, I wholeheartedly support that it is imperative to keep on interacting with others face-to-face as much as we can in order not to completely lose our most important element, communication.
