Media are essential, on the contrary learning how to utilize media is even more. Media plays a significant role particularly in expanding access to education: read book, watching videos, communicate with others who have similar educational goals and interests. 2020 is the era of online learning applications such as Zoom, MS Team, Google Classroom. . . Everyone can watch together the content shown on their own screen. This is similar to studying on class with a huge board or even more convenient: people can record the lesson and review it whenever they want, with subtitle, and they can customize speed. However, media isn’t always good thing depending on how it is used and who it is used by. New media may offer disadvantages for education. For example, students use laptops on taking notes, that’s really commendable. But if instead of taking notes, they surfing web, playing game or chatting, then that’s alarmingly though. There’s a standpoint that the Internet is changing a number of aspects of our lives, from communication to education in two areas: memory and attention. Thanks to media, people nowadays can get the answer almost immediately, and we don’t need to learn and remember them on the grounds that Internet has become our collective memory. Definitely this saves us a plethora of timebutfrankly speaking Internet is forcing me to trade my ability to focus and think for information with wide coverage and rapid speed: In order to find an answer for English question, i regularly abused the English translation tools. In contrast, a major drawback of this method is my vocabulary isn’t enriched and consolidated. In the next turn I have to translate it again consequently basically, learning English or any new languages becomes meaningless. Media allows users to multitask, which mean they can do several things concurrently. Nevertheless, many studies have also concluded that multitasking will reduce work efficiency by 40%. You won’t be able to fully focus on anything, and also be more prone to mistakes and more time-consuming to correct. In an era where time seems to be shortening and workload is increasing, we must learn to respond to multiple messages, to manage massive amounts of information, to make connections, and to decide what is critical. Choose for yourself a smart way of working, instead of forcing yourself to “multitasking”. It can’t be denied that, media is among the wonderful invention of modern life to. With full features to help people connect with each other, process information faster and save more time. Does media can harm us? Unfortunately yes. But does it help us in various ways? Yes, also. So my opinion is we need to learn how to use media properly. “Just as tools, language, and literacy helped early human beings survive long ago, technology may help human beings survive into the future”.
