In any field of endeavor, it is impossible to make a significant contribution without first being strongly influenced by past achievements in that field

In any field, it is really important to learn and understand other's work to make significant contribution in that field. Learning and understanding lay's the basic foundation of knowledge. Previous work needed to be reviewed inorder to invent something new. For instance, in the field of mobile robotics, person must be influenced by looking how the robot is working. after that, they need to have a strong basic concepts of core robotics to work on micro-topic in mobile robotics. There are some universal laws which everyone need to obey. These laws differ from field to field. For Example, making a medicine have some rules and regulation and need core knowledge of chemicals to make. Without it, it is not possible to invent a medicine. similarly, Einstein invented theory of relativity. Theory is purely based on the core concepts of gravitation and gravtional pull of planets. without having strong influence of the past work and core concepts, Einstein could not have invented the theory of relativity. however, inventing something new needs thinking out of the box. Galelio presented the idea to helicentric which means that the Sun is in the centre of our solar system, disproving all the previous researches which supported the idea of geocentrism. In this case, Gelilo was not influenced by the past acheivements but to conter other scientist research, he had knowledge about the topic and then worked on it. In short, it is not possible to make any significant improvement in the particular field without having the previous knowledge and past achievements. on the other hand, to disregard the previous work presented by other researchers, one must know other's core concept on which they are relying to build research. Howerver, if the basics of research are not wrong and reseracher cannot negate other's claim and achievement in particular field, then it becomes most important to be influence by the past achievement to further make more contribution to it.
