EFFECTS OF BEAUTY STANDARDS

EFFECTS OF BEAUTY STANDARDS yE3Wl
Women are the audience that is most specifically targeted by the daily deluge of visual ads. Advertising for beauty sometimes sends women conflicting signals. Therefore, it has negative impacts on both the physical and mental health of people. These advertisements are detrimental to a woman's emotions, body, expectations, self-esteem, health, eating habits, and so much more, according to several studies. Because the concept of beauty is so widely disseminated through the media, women tend to adopt it as their own and begin to feel self-conscious about their appearance. These unattainable goals can be destructive to the person holding them, as well. The idea of ideal feminine beauty is mostly a product of society, and it frequently emphasizes the physical beauty that a woman should have in order to be desired and attractive. These values frequently discriminate against women based on their social orientation and are mostly based on hetero-normative concepts. These days, women are attempting to live up to these norms and ideals of beauty, which is contributing to a number of psychiatric illnesses. According to studies, such ideas frequently result in psychological problems including sadness, low self-esteem, eating disorders, and many other things. Girls are exposed to these idealized ideas of beauty starting at a young age and continuing all the way into adulthood. The ideal female beauty is viewed as an imperfectly perfect, impossible-to-proportioned lady that all other women should model themselves after in order to be desirable and appealing. But this ideal is not wholly abstract. Advertisers for beauty products are still taking advantage of the desire to sell their goods perfectly. From what has been discussed above, people should be aware that beauty is not worth it if it causes stress and despair and interferes with their ability to live a healthy life. It is always advised to be loyal to themselves and to remember that your physical and emotional well-being comes first.
