types of waste at the university of NSW in 1996 Gp7KB
Of all the waste reported in the UNSW survey in 1996, it was found that the greatest proportion was paper which made up 52% of the waste found in buildings. Both in outside eating areas and in skips the greatest percentage of waste consisted of compostable materials, which stood at 40% of the total. Considering the whole percentage of waste collected in the university, it is clear that nearly the whole amount could be recycled or re-used in some way.
