Clothes which are one of the people’s daily needs are considered to play an important role in one’s physical appearance. It is said that one can learn about a person’s character and culture from their option of choosing clothes. I moderately agree with this statement and I will outline my opinion in this essay.

On one hand, “You are what you wear” is a traditional saying which means people can define with what they have on. For example, people who wear light, comfortable, loose and casual outfit may have easy-going, talkative, outgoing and sociable personality while those who dress formally may be reserved and introvert. Furthermore, all nationalities in the world have various national costumes which make them distinctive from each other. Unique styles and beautiful patterns are usually found in every nation such as Uzbek, Russian, Chinese and others as clothes are one of the parts of their culture. On the other hand, an individual’s clothing may not always tell much about their nature. For instance, some professionals have to wear the same uniform because of their job. Moreover, nowadays globalization is increasing throughout the world in every field of life and clothes are no exception. As a result, most people especially younger generation dress the same. Additionally, humans’ internal reality may be different from their external looks. As a proverb goes “Appearances are deceptive”. To sum up, one can assume people’s nature and culture by looking at their clothing but this is not always true to draw a conclusion only by appearance.
