Children tend to spend less time with their parents. Do you think they should be forced to spend time with family?

In comparison to the past, children now prefer to spend their time along friends rather than at home with their family. While there are several reasons to why the current and past generations have different ideas on where to spend most of their time parents should never make their children to stay at home against their will. There are various reasons to why the time children are spending at home is progressively decreasing. Firstly, there's a wide range of activities that children can participate in with their friends that did not exist before. For example, video game tournaments, Anime conventions and so on. Secondly, the current generations are hyper aware of their emotions and they feel highly misunderstood by their parents so they ultimately confide in friends. Lastly, the youth seem to be divided into cult like groups each sharing strong opinions about different causes or beliefs and would invest the majority of their time as groups expressing their passions. For example, Korean pop supporters call them selves Kuai and come together to spend their time shopping similar clothing items, eating Korean food and of course listening to music and that would sum up their day. In regards to the question of parents forcing kids to stay at home more, I think it's a bad approach that will lead their children to become resentful. If we think about it logically, children spend their time outside of home because they find their comfort elsewhere. Moreover, nowadays children are a lot more rebellious and tend to do the opposite what their parents ask so this action would backfire To conclude, although children's reference to where they wish to spend their time and with who has changed, I do not support the idea of pressuring them to spend more time at home.
