Your community centre is surveying your opinion on a new event happening every Saturday in the park near your home. There are two events being considered. One suggestion is a vegetable and fruit market. The other suggestion is a second-hand furniture and appliance market.

I would like to opine in favour of option A, as this seems far better and convincing choice for me than the other one. Though, the other choice is equally appealing, I would present a couple of reasons to substantiate my argument. Firstly, fresh vegetable and fruits are the most necessary part of our daily diet. People are generally free on the weekends and it is the best time to shop for the whole week. This will introduce competition for other grocery stores in the neighborhood and as a result, force them to keep their produce prices competitive. For example, multiple researchers suggest that buyer having more options, get the better rates. Moreover, this will provide small farmers a platform and opportunity to sale their products directly to the consumers. As a result, the intermediate stakeholders can be reduced and overall cheaper rates benefitting producer and consumer both. This will generate extra revenue too for the local municipality. On the contrary, we seldom need second-hand furnitures and house appliances and one can easily find it online directly from the seller. Having discussed all the arguments, I believe that a Saturday vegetable/fruit marker be more beneficial for than a second-hand appliance market.
