Dear Richardson family,
My name is Stephanie P, and I’m from Springfield, Illinois in the USA. I am a sophomore at the local university, and my major is English literature and culture. I live at home with my parents and younger brother, who is a high school student. I am a big theater nerd, and I have been acting in local productions for a few years. I like traveling and trying new foods from around the world, but this will be my first time to cross the pond!
I am really excited about coming, but I have a few questions. How close is the university to your house? Will I be able to get to class on foot, or is there local public transportation? As I said before, I am really into theater, so I was wondering if there are any local programs that I can join.
I will be flying into Heathrow Airport on September 1, and my flight is American Air 123, arriving at 10: 35 in the morning. Our program directors said that the host families will be waiting for us in the Arrival Hall, and I am really looking forward to meeting you there for the first time.
See you soon,
Stephanie P
