Wild animals need more protection
Wild animals need more protection GoQ3j
The amount of money spent on wildlife conservation often draws criticism. Although many people argue that wild animals need no protection as they do not help humans in today’s world, I strongly disagree with this notion.
Wild animals are important to us in so many ways. Every creature has a role to play in the ecosystem because the survival of one species depends on another species. From butterflies and grasshoppers to elephants and tigers, the lives of every organism are interdependent. Hence, if humans thought that they can survive even after all animals are gone, they will be in for a rude shock. Without birds, bees and butterflies, food cannot be grown and without leaves and grass, prey animals cannot sustain themselves. If these animals die out, predatory animals too cannot survive. Obviously, there is a need to conserve another form of life.
Another reason to invest in wildlife conservation is that human activity poses a serious threat to the existence of many wild animals. Deforestation has already destroyed their habitats and now many animals are struggling for survival. Hunting and poaching animals for their skin, teeth, tusks and claws are another danger. Without adequate conservatory measures, it is not possible to save wildlife.
In conclusion, conserving wildlife is essential for protecting all forms of life including human life. Hence, investing money for protecting wildlife is never a wasteful expenditure. In fact, it is the need of the hour because human activity has already led to the extinction of many forms of life. If this trend continues, our own existence too will soon be in trouble.
