What are the Sources of Energy Pneumatics and Hydraulics under Fluid Mechanics? 9YnQ3
Fluid mechanics can be defined as a branch of engineering that deals with the transmission, generation and control of fluid power. There are two types of fluid power systems namely; Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Pneumatics is a branch of fluid power systems that comprises of Compressed air as it's source of energy that is used to perform work, linear and rotary motion.
However, This type of Fluid power systems has some disadvantages and limitations such as, First Pneumatic systems can perform work up to 7bars, Secondly these systems require air silencers because they produce loud noise when in operation. Conclusively such systems are not recommended in varying temperature environments, because air tends to condensate when the temperatures are low.
The second type of fluid power systems is hydraulics, which uses an incompressible fluid as a source of energy in the performing of work, linear and rotary motion.
However this type of Fluid power systems has some disadvantages such as it possesses risks to fire accidents when oil leaks out from the system in addition to that it is not suitable for slower operations and lastly it requires constant maintenance from experts.
