Voting in 2001 UK parliamentary ellections

The chart below presents the percentage of people who voted at distinguishable ages in the 1983 and 2001 UK parliamentary elections. As shown in the chart, overall, in the main parts, there is a deterioration in elections during this time. Comparing the 1983 UK parliamentary calling elections to 2001, between 18 and 24 age, the percentage gradually dropped from approximately 80% to nearly 55%, almost the same it can be observed in the age 25-34 where the percentage sharp fell from almost 80% to about 57% as well. In the age of 35-44 between 1983 and 2001 years, it is illustrated the drop from roughly 95% to around 70%. Between 45-54 age, the percentage declined from 96% to 77% and between 55-64 age this is virtually identical. In contrast, in 65+ age one is able to see a gradual soar from 80% to 83%. Turning our attention to the sample, which category of age is on the top of voting percentage, it can be noticed that ages between 45-64 provide the leading quantity of percent – 96% in 1983 and 77% in 2001. Nonetheless, it can be shown that at the bottom of the percentage of people who voted is a category between 18-34 age – approximately 75% in 1983 and less than 60% in 2001. To sum up, the statistics reveal a considerable decrease of voting people in general, but a slight increase in 65+ age.
