People with addiction use substances or engage in behaviors that become compulsive and often continue despite harmful consequences. However, despite these problems there are several solutions to overcome addiction. Firstly, it would be a good idea to try to change your environment. Remove any reminders of your addiction from your home and workplace. To illustrate, separate from those who would encourage you to be involved with the object of your addiction it could be drug, alcohol, or behavior. If you are trying to quit drinking, get rid of any alcohol, bottle openers, wine glasses, and corkscrews. If you're trying to quit gambling, remove any playing cards, scratch tickets, or poker chips. Also, don't let other people use or bring reminders of the addiction-related substance or behavior into your home because it will affect you in anyway. Another solution is getting information about addictions. Understand what the effects of addiction are in the disease process. Learn about how it impacts you and even how it hurt and affects your family and friends. Knowledge is power and it may help you understand more about yourself and your loved ones. There are many sources for finding these information. For example public library, the internet, education groups, support, treatment etc. There is an enormous amount of possibilities for these things to learn. The last solution is getting help. You can talk to your doctor, health professional, counsellor or drug and alcohol service about your decision to quit. Be honest about your situation it’s the key point in this step. If you are not be honest, you will be putting your health and life risk by not getting the right help. İt won’t be easy but you can always get sport from your family or friends at that point. At the end, when you finally see how healthy you are and how happy your loved ones are by overcoming your addiction, you will realize that everything you did was worth it.
