In recent years, many schools are considering adding up more academic courses and stop running sports and physical lessons. In my opinion, having more literature classes can have certain impacts on students’ physical as well as social development, their interest in sports and athletic students.
First of all, since today’s children are already fed up with tons of classes, school work and exams, giving them more academic classes can lessen their time for physical activities. Having more academic input can make children physically inactive and even impact their academic performance due to the dullness. Secondly, as schools are one of the best places for socializing with sports containing a lot of interaction between children due to the fact that sports acquire teamwork, children lose a chance for socializing if the sports clubs are demolished.
Moreover, when sports are no longer included in the school curriculum, children are not able to keep in touch with the sports, which reduces the chance for them to explore their interest in sports. As a result, if the youngsters are not familiar with sports, the sports industry, which mainly relies on youths resources, can also be affected. Additionally, athletic students have to commit more time for exercising out of schools as schools do not provide time for doing exercises. This needs students to rearrange their schedule for academic and physical work.
To conclude, in my opinion, excluding extracurricular activities, especially sports from school curriculums and including academic subjects can have serious effects on childrens’ progress in both body and social. In addition, less exposure to sports deter student’s interest in them and makes it difficult for sporty students to pursue sports outside of schools.
