VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES IN OUR COMMUNITY

Trang: Hey Kim, I just saw on social media there are a lot of people doing volunteer work to help the poor like donating money, clothes, and food and you have done any kind of volunteer work. yet? Kim: I find those actions very meaningful. Last month I and my friends raised money to buy gifts such as clothes, food, and lucky money bags to give to the poor to use during Tet. Trang: I also raise money with my friends to buy food, but we give it to any poor person we meet on the street, regardless of the elderly or children. Kim: Which popular volunteering activities do you think teenagers can do? Trang: I think teenagers can donate clothes or toys and books they don't use to needy children, encouraging people to donate blood to help patients in need or join local volunteer organizations to be able to give more help to the poor Kim: Not only helping the poor, but teenagers can also do things like collect garbage on the roads, and parks, and plant more trees to help society be cleaner and more beautiful. Kim: Do you think teenagers should or shouldn’t take volunteer work? Give reasons Trang: I think today's youth should be involved in volunteer work. Because those deeds, whether small or large, will bring joy and happiness to those in difficult circumstances. Kim: I think so, in addition, it also helps teenagers develop social skills, and communication skills and learn to love people around them more. Trang: Do you know of any volunteer projects in your community? Kim: In the locality, I have never participated in any projects, but I was able to participate in the youth volunteer team organized by the school. On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the volunteer youth team organized an activity to give gifts of cakes and lanterns to lonely children and elderly people. Trang: As far as I know during covid-19, for people without income local government gave gifts to each household such as rice, instant noodles, or money to help them through that difficult time.
