The table show the amount of money spent on Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden in the years 1999 and 2004. It is clear that the sales of fairtrade coffee showed a upward trend in all five countries. By contrast, the sales of bananas was the lowest. In 1999, Switzerland was the first sales in the coffee with 3 million euros, and these figure increased almost double in the year 2004. The sales of coffee in Denmark at 1. 8 million euros in 1999 which rose slightly at 2 million euros in 2004. However, sales in Belgium and Sweden which were at 1 million euros and 0. 8 million euros in 1999, which increased to 1. 7 and 1 million euros in 2004 respectively. Coffee sales were the the UK at 1. 5 million euros in 1999, which rose dramatically to 20 million euros in 2004. In 1999, sales of bananas in the UK were at 15 million euros, which increased significantly at 20 million euros in 2004. The amount of sales of bananas in Switzerland and Denmark were at 1 and 0. 6 million euros in 1999, and a rise of near about 3. 5 million euros both countries in the year 2004. However, Belgium and Sweden showed a decline from 1. 8 and 2 millon euros in 1999 to 1 and 0. 9 million euros in 2004.
