The table explains about the fluctuation of the average number of cars per hour during working hours from Harper Lane, Great York Way and Long Lane. The survey was conducted from a decade of pollution monitoring program, before and after Traffic calming conducted in Harper lane.
Harper Lane had a very calm traffic back in 1993 with the average figure of 82 cars passed by during working hours. The road traffic however, consistently increased every year up to the year of 1998 where the average number was at 915 cars per hour. The year when traffic calming method introduced at the early of 1999 was a game changer, showed by the decreased average numbers of cars started in the same year and continued up to year of 2002.
Great York way was the most busy road in 1993 with the average of 600 cars passed by during working hour and 720 cars in 1994. The number was fluctuated after that, showed that during 1995 to 1998 the average number didn't reached 700 cars per hour, but then in 1999 until now the number was dynamically increased around 900.
Long lane had the most average number of increase compared to two other roads. It had 400 cars used the road perhour in 1993 and within 10 years, the road had been the busiest road with the number of 1400 cars per hour. The average figure experienced a decrease during 1997 and 1998, but continued to raise until 2002
