Overall, the biggest salary that get teachers at the first years of their career is in Japan. But after 15 years Australian teachers become the best paid ones and after 19 years achieve the maximum salary, whereas other countries’ teachers spend a longer time and still earn less than Australian teachers. To begin, Japan, which is the leader in the amount of starting salaries of teachers (38, 345 USD), pays the maximum salary at 68, 175 USD after 27 years. The similar pattern shows Denmark with 31, 745 USD of starting salary and paying 63, 395 USD per annum after 30 years of work, which is the longest time to reach the maximum salary. In contrast, teachers in Belgium and Portugal with less experience, 25 and 22 years respectively, can achieve their maximum salaries at around 34, 000 USD, however it almost twice as that of Denmark. In addition, Belgium shows the worst indicator of starting salary at 15, 186 USD, following with Portugal at 17, 186 USD. In terms of Australian teachers, their salaries comprise only 22, 235 USD at the start. But the amount triples after 15 years and continues to increase following 3 years, reaching almost 80, 000 USD.
