In this fast paced life, lifestyle of people has changed a lot. Survey has been conducted by economic times, results were astonishing, projected numbers stated that large number of people are interested in cosmetic surgery in order to improve their physical appearence. However, there are pros and cons of the every aspect. This essay intends to discuss the reasons, pros and cons of this increasing trend.
Firstly, in pursuit to look good many people opt for cosmetic surgery. Bollywood industry is a well known example of this, for every role actors undergo cosmetic surgery and pay hefty amount to look good. Secondly, peer pressure is one of the main reasons that people undergo cosmetic surgery. High profile section of the society wants to be admired among their peer group.
Moreover, there is a positive outlook in this growing trend. Firstly, many clinics have opended up indicating the advancement of science and technology, this adds up many job opportunities in the market that in turn enhance GDP of the country. Secondly, there is a section of society who really needs cosmetic surgery. For example- acid attack survivors, child born with a deformity etc really needs a cosmetic surgery in order to live a normal life. Last but not the least, entertainment industry has bloomed a lot, as they are being admired by mass for their looks.
However, there is a negative outlook too. Firstly, after affects of the cosmetic surgery is quite detrimental to the health. Actress Hema Malini underwent surgeries in her 30's, now she is facing after effects of this. Secondly, cosmetic surgeries are quite expensive, in order to afford it people work day and night, take excess pressure that spoils their mental health.
To sum up, there is a saying - excess of everything is bad. There is positive and negative outlook of the every aspect. Onus is on the individual to strike the balance between the desires and practical aspects of life.
