In today’s contemporary world, the major cities are experiencing dramatic growth side by side with pressure issues which the youngsters must face. This essay will demonstrate various reasons for the problem before outlining a number of viable solutions to mitigate the situation. To begin with, a large number of people migrate into urban areas, which leads to scarcity of housing. In other words, the young are forced to live in a narrow space, where they cannot ensure safe water and sanitation facilities. Furthermore, the amount of people poured into urban areas means pollution for environmental habitat comes from industrial zones and vehicles. For example, Mumbai has a slum area called Dharavi where millions of dwellers live in poor facilities, lack of hygiene, also known as the center of infected diseases because residents here live without fundamental demand and this area is seriously polluted. However, there are ways to mitigate these problems. First and foremost, a first solution is to relocate industrial zones to outskirts. By doing this, jobs are allocated to many places which reduce the burden of housing and dwellers don’t have to migrate into major cities to find jobs. Besides that, the cost of rent housing is declined and sanitation facilities are enhanced. Second, the authorities should legislate waste treatment. Individuals also organize campaigns related to recycling and collecting household waste to protect the environment. Thanks to these green living activities, it can increase awareness of hygiene, which helps decrease contagious diseases like diarrhea or viral hemorrhagic fever (pandemic transmission through mosquitoes). In conclusion, housing scarcity and environmental pollution are the primary culprits behind the problem, and it is recommended that the proposed measures should be universally adopted to tackle the issue.
