The line graph illustrates the rates of birth in China and the USA during an 80-year period from 1920 to 2000. There are some considerable similarities in the number of birth rates in China and the USA. Both countries experienced noticeable fluctuations in this period.
In China, the birth rates rose consistently from 10% to 15% by 1935. Subsequently, there was a sharp decrease to 5% in the 1940s. however, Chinese birth rates then underwent a dramatic increase, reaching its peak at 20% in the 1950s. By the following years, the figure declined gradually.
Meanwhile, the US birth rates fluctuated between 1920 and 1940, whereas, it reached its valley at nearly 5% in 1945 before experiencing a substantial growth to 15% over the next five years. Finally, the birth percentage experiend a slow fall during the second half of the century
