THE DIAGRAM BELOW SHOWS THE LIFE CYCLE OF A HONEY BEES LYd7p
The diagram illustrates different stages in the life of a honey bee.
Overall, there are five main stages in the development of the honey bee, from egg to mature adult insect. It is also noticeable that the complete life cycle lasts between 34 and 36 days.
In the first stage of the life cycle, the female honey bee lays one or two eggs every three days. Between nine and ten days later, each egg hatches into a nymph.
In the next stage of the life cycle, the nymph experiences some physical changes. It grows quickly in size and sheds its skin three times. First, this moulting takes place 5 days after the egg hatches, then 7 days later, and again another 9 days. After the moulting stage, the nymph develops into the young adult honey bee. In the following four days, it reaches full maturity and the life cycle starts again.
