The graph given here illustrates the changes that happened in the ownership of electrical gadgets & the amount of time spent during household works between the time period of 1920 & 2019. The changes are measured in percentage. Electrical appliances considered here are washing machine, refrigerator & vacuum cleaner, whereas washing clothes, preparing meals & cleaning are considered as housework. In the year of 1920, the consumption of given gadgets is less compared to 2019. This shows that the household works are mostly done manually. During 1920, refrigerator was consumed at higher rate compared to vacuum cleaner & refrigerator. The graph also depicts that there is a gradual increase in the consumption of those appliances later. The use of refrigerator & vacuum cleaner had a steady growth from 1920 to 1960. It is clearly given that the ownership of those appliances never had any drop in their consumption percentage. Meanwhile, the use of washing machine had a decline between the years of 1960 & 1980. From the graph 2, it is understood that number of hours spent in a week in doing household work was reduced steadily due to the arrival of electrical appliances. Between the years of 1920 & 1960, there is a steady drop. Afterwards we could see some fluctuations since 1960.
