The bar chart below shows the percentage of children from 5 to 14 years of age in selected leisure activities in Australia. l6Q
The following chart compares the disparity in leisure activities of two genders from 5 – 14 years of age. Overall, boys were more likely to choose skating, cycling and playing games than girls were, while art and craft were more popular with females. However, all of them showed the similar interest in watching TV. Obviously, video games and sportive hobbies attracted more boys than girls. Computer games had far more influence on males than on the other gender, with around 15% for the gap. What is more, boys enjoyed outdoor routines than girls did, respectively around 15% and 12% for skateboarding and bike riding. However, more than a half of girls was keen on art and craft, while it covered up only a quarter of boys’ interest. Beside sportive activities, those concerned passive activity as a leisure routine. No matter what gender, 100% of them would rather watch TV in their free time.
