Some people think that formal education should start for children as early as possible, while others think that it should not start until 7 years of age. kj6Ke
In the contemporary world, one of the heated debates is that the most suitable age of children to start their education life. It is considered by some that the earlier children start school the better outcome may occur in the future while others disagree and think that children should not be allowed to go school before they are 7 years old. In this essay, I will look at both sides of the argument and give my opinion in the favor of the latter. On the one hand, it is certainly true that the highest level of learning ability is at an early age. According to experts, the earlier children start to learn, the better development of cognitive, scientific, music or art skills can be progressed. For instance, children can learn a foreign language better than adults. Apart from that, some people think that it is a vital factor that having children accustom to school life for their later education life. The underlying reason for this idea is that if children start school so early, they will be more successful than their peers in the future. On the other hand, this kind of childhood intensified by instructional activities can adversely affect people. For example, if children spent their time mostly reading books or learning an instrument, they cannot have a time interval to play with their friends. Thus, this situation causes children to feel alone and affect their psychology. In addition, school hours comprise a large period of a day, so children stand apart from their families. The vast majority of children adhere to their families with strong bonds when they are young. Hence, they may not be ready for this experience. After looking at both sides of the issue, I would like to conclude by claiming that children should not be compelled to start their formal education when they are not enough mature for it. Even though starting at an early age has influential advantages, they are eclipsed by its side effects.
