Some people therefore think that governments should pay university fees for students who study subjects that are needed by society. Those who choose to study less relevant subjects should not receive government funding. Would the advantages of such an educational policy outweigh the disadvantages?

Some people argue that the subjects which are related to society should be funded by the government for students whereas the Government should not pay dues of irrelevant subjects. I believe that this type of policy has major drawbacks. The advantage of a policy is that it will promote students to get graduation, even though, the drawback is that students will get attracted to such subjects without having an interest in them On the first hand, the advantage of this policy is that it will promote students to get higher studies in relevant fields without any cost. Thus it will open the gate of employment for students after graduation in relevant sites. Another benefit of this is that it will have a positive impact on society by raising the education regarding it. People will get enough free knowledge for making it a better environment in any circumstances. Moreover, such a step will decrease the illiteracy rate overall. For example, many people cannot afford higher studies but in this way, they can get their graduation at no cost. On the other hand, I believe that the drawbacks are much more than the benefits. Firstly, the students will get enrolled in it without having any concern, because they will be attracted by due-less studies. This will may make them lose passion for their studies. Secondly, giving free studies to one group of students may affect the others, it will create a negative impact on them. Finally, only supporting society-related fields will minimize the student’s genuine interest in other subjects. Every subject has its own scope but avoiding others over a society-relevant subject may minimize the development of a country. In conclusion, the advantage is that it can promote students to get higher studies. However, it can make them lose goal by taking subject in which they don’t have interest at overall.
