Recently, there is a hotly debated topic around the level of impact that experiences in each stage make on a human being's growth process. Some people say that lessons a child gained during early days contain a majority effect on their future life while others go for the idea that teenage years hold more influence. In my point of view, the formative stage, where an individual’s personality, aspect, and mindset were shaped, is more essential. On the one hand, it is undeniable that knowledge that was obtained during teenage day, especially at school, plays an inevitable role in setting up a person’s upcoming life due to the fact that at this age, people are able to actively absorb information from several sources then filter it wisely by critical thinking skill. By that, they can gain a storage of experiences and skills that are capable to support them not only in life but also in how they see the surrounding world and form their own opinion. For instance, in today’s mass media bombarded era, teenagers manage to have their own viewpoint about social issues like fast fashion or climate change. Moreover, they actually have the ability to build a stable plan to speak up and make a change for some certain problems. On the other hand, I believe that the formative years is the foundation of all the capabilities I mentioned above. During this time, an individual will continuously observe, learn and mimic from all people and environment around them to shape their own characteristics and these personal traits then will affect this person’s point of view for the rest of their life. For instance, a child who was brought up in an open-minded and free speaking environment will definitely be given solid confidence, plus a settled critical thinking mindset which will be the base of other thinking processes in the future. In conclusion, every stage of life is crucial in forming an individual’s inside yet the early days before blend into society still being pivotal in my opinion.
