It's imperative for human beings to understand when a situation is under or out of their control. Some people believe it's best to accept hard times, while others believe in action for betterment. According to me, our response should depend and vary in line with the circumstances. It's our responsibility to act and strive for betterment as long as we have the means and the authority to do so. On the other hand, if one doesn't have the means to bring a change or impact, then acceptance and acknowledgement is the best tool to at peace. For example, if a company is at a loss due to poor quality of production, then it's the responsibility of the top-level management to take alternative decisions and coordinate with the other employees. On the other hand, if the profits are reducing due to governmental policies, then the company has no option but to adapt and embrace the challenge. It's important to recognize the merits of acceptance. It's always the better choice over regret about the past. This is also encouraged by the supporters of Stoicism, a philosophy that promotes a positive response in the worst of situations. Those people who have the potential to determine when and when not to back down are able to operate with maximum effectiveness and efficiency. This helps in avoiding wastage of time and human resources. Proper calculations and analysis are required to make a reliable decision. Therefore, we conclude that one must have the will to try as long as possible, however, at the same time, one must also have the maturity and the sincerity to realise when the circumstance go out of control so that they can divert their time and focus towards their future goals and objectives.
