Education has always played a vital role in human life. Especially, when it comes to higher education, many people desire to study in their dream college. Some people, nevertheless, believe that tertiary-level education should be only accessible for good students. Whereas, others argue that every student should be given the chance to study the college they want. In this essay, I am going to shed light on both of these views and extend my support to the latter opinion. On the one hand, it is undeniable that higher education is complex and it usually digs in further aspects of a field that students study. In other words, it requires students to perform well enough to get a diploma. However, not every student can have a good grasp of what they may learn at college. As a result, they fail to complete their university studies and have to drop out of advanced levels. For that reason, many educational experts are worried that this advanced education should be provided only to eligible students. By doing so, it may prevent lower-level students from enrolling and reducing the number of students who fail. On the other hand, there are many reasons to back up the fact that college should be available for all students. First and foremost, every student has the right to study whatever they want. There are plenty of universities with diverse areas for students to explore. There is no point in restricting the lower-level students from studying college if they meet the demand of pursuing their professions. Furthermore, secondary education may contain some subjects that these students considered “lower-level” are not so good at, which can drag their overall performance down, although they are talented in some fields. Their chance to shine usually occurs when they study in college, where advanced aspects are researched. Overall, both views have their weight. Nonetheless, I think that all students should be allowed to enroll in the college or university that they want. Not only just that but students should also be encouraged to take further steps in higher education to fulfill their dreams and become outstanding citizens of their country.
