Some people believe government should spend money on building train and subway lines to reduce traffic congestion. Others think that building more and wider roads is the better way to reduce traffic congestion. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It would be argued by some people that the government ought to develop train and subway system to minimize the population pressure on the main roads of the major cities. In my opinion, however, they can widen and construct the streets to lower traffic jams. On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people believe that the improvement of the train and subway lines can mitigate the problem. The first reason is training is one of the greatest means of transport because it can move lots of people, also an enormous amount of goods. Therefore, using by train can alleviate the current the travelling overload. Another reason is it can decrease the accident risk, since each train has its own railway line, so if the subway system has no problem, the accident will hardly happen. In addition, travelling by train is also a great way for some people who want to enjoy the breath-taking view while the train is being operated. On the other hand, I would argue that ameliorating roads such as expanding them or building the new ones has more benefits. Firstly, with a large road, the residents can decide to choose many forms of transport, and this can relieve the density of passengers on public vehicles, because many people like using their private cars or motorbikes. Secondly, there are some special areas which can not build and operate the train. For instance, in Vietnam, most of the provinces which are higher than the others, do not have any railway lines. In conclusion, although some people think that going by train can reduce the traffic congestion, I personally believe that extending and building roads is more beneficial.
