However, a group of people think that it has drawbacks, while I strongly believe that we can’t ignore the fact that it has more benefits which we have to put under consideration. Secondly, we can communicate with our friends who live abroad and check on them continuously so they don’t feel lonely. On the other hand, despite the advantages above, there are also disadvantages for social media as a communication tool. Primarily, internet is unreliable. Sometimes we get a fake and wrong news which can make a sort of misleading. For instance, in 2019 there were news about a death of an Egyptian actor called Adel Emam, but it turned out that it was a rumor. Moreover, social media can have a negative impact on our mental health and. Since we have bullies and critics, it can cause depression and anxiety. I was reading an article online about mental illnesses when I discovered that 50% of the people who get hate comments can’t handle it and it can lead them to suicide or self harm To sum up. Social media is a double sword, it has pros like we can get the news every time and everywhere, but also it has cons such as getting fake news.
