Elderly residential homes are so common in recent times due to hectic lifestyle of individuals because of which number of people are sent to old folk’s homes rather their living in their own houses with their families. In my opinion demerits of these homes outweigh merits and in this essay, I will provide reasons for the same.
Firstly, there are certain distinct advantages of elderly homes like it has comfortable environment for them as it provides plenty of post retirement activities from which they can earn money easily. In addition it also gives them chance to restart their lives by making new friends of same age to whom they can share things. For example, nowadays people do not have time to communicate with their elder persons due to their busy work schedule or various other reasons which makes old people lonely. Trough these houses this problem can be solved easily. Consequently, it is better option for them to live peaceful and happy life.
On the other hand, old aged home separates elder humans from their family as they live separately and it might creates felling of missing out in their minds as they cannot entirely witness childhood of their grand children’s. However, this problem might be solved by frequent family gatherings. Furthermore, it is stated truth that elderly people need more attention and health care and their loved ones can take care of them in better ways rather than others. For instance there are many old people throughout India who required frequent body checkups and has followed different diet plans which their family can provide them. Hence, in order to get proper care aged persons should live with their families.
To conclude, it is acceptable truth that families are requisites to live and no other person can take place of our own people. So, I believe that elderly people should live their family.
