Since childhood, I have lived happily with my family in a 4-storey house next to the Red River. Although it is a long and beautiful river of Hanoi city, it has not been properly planned methodically and splendid like the Seine River in France or the Ganges River in Korea. Just a few steps from my house is a slum, where hundreds of immigrants have to live in makeshift huts built from corrugated iron and scrap roofs. When I was a child, I was afraid to go near that place, didn't want to interact with people here because it was a place where living conditions were very low and many social evils occurred.
During a charity trip to distribute rice and clothes to the poor in the Red River that I had the opportunity to participate in, I listened to the stories of the people here. Being an immigrant, the miserable lives here have to go through many hardships and endure temporary living. They are disadvantaged, poor people, life forces them to migrate from their homeland to find a richer piece of land in order to make a living and find an economy for their families in their homeland. However, the fact that they exist, live temporarily on the banks of the Red River with no legal documents, no qualifications, they cannot work in good environments, they are forced to live underground in huts, the "houses" are assembled by corrugated iron roofs that are temporarily erected in the dirty illegal land.
Received a rice meal with only a few simple pieces of meat and tofu, somewhat smug, they gave me back priceless smiles and sincere thanks. When I directly interact with migrants, I have the opportunity to open my mind and have a different perspective on their lives. The fear that had been in the body for a long time had now turned to sympathy. I feel like I need to do something to help them.
When I got home, I ran over and immediately asked my father - a real estate agent with many years of experience and knowledge of the city's plan to renovate the Red River bank. These migrants will lose their place to live and become more and more difficult. With initial simple ideas, I decided to create a real estate website for the poor so that I could find affordable hostels for the needy and homeless.
