should crime report in detail?
should crime report in detail? xbej9
The fact that we live in a world that is full of violence and crime cannot be denied. A popular argument has been made that the media should not report on crime issues in detail (including television, radio, and social media). It is my belief that the public should be aware of these crimes.
One thing to note is that we hear about crime pretty much everyday, which is actually pretty normal all around the world, it's one of the government's goals to reduce crime rates, so they find social media to be the best way to alert the public to all the violence in society, as time has passed, criminals have developed new tactics, and social media plays an important role by conducting interviews to discover the goals of murder, rubber, and so on.
In exchange, sometimes it can have a negative effect on the public, especially on youngsters. When watching a television program about drug use, I noticed that teenagers became curious, which may lead them to testing kinds of drugs like marijuana.
The other hand, some victims say if they knew about the serial killers in their city they would be more carefull or that students who were addicted to drugs assumed the pills were for making them considerate. Additionally, psychologists discovered that most serial killers and criminals are sociopaths who suffer from mental disorders. Because more news is broadcast on the television about this disorder, more people become familiar with this type of person.
Accordingly, criminal reportage would be useful in increasing public awareness about the rate and reasons for crime, but use of violence headlines could cause harm if not censored.
