Self-actualization Chance

I believe that discovering your passion in life and taking steps in that direction is the most important part of self-actualization. I feel incredibly lucky to have realized what I am truly interested in and I feel a great yearning to improve myself in this regard. Having found the determination and motivation to chart a new career path for myself, I have decided to apply for the master’s programme. I graduated from the Faculty of Arts and Science at Izmir University of Economics. After four years of studying translation and interpreting, I completed my undergraduate degree in 2016 with a GPA of 2. 71/4. 0. During my undergraduate education, I achieved over 3. 50 GPA in all courses in the 2015–2016 academic year and was selected as a high honour student. In order to prove myself and show my experience in the field of translation, I translated from English into Turkish one of the world’s classics, Jane Eyre, and I was happy and proud to see my published translation in various bookstores. After a while working as a translator, I obtained a pedagogical formation certificate and worked as an English teacher at a college for three years. I decided to change my career path by considering the motivation I felt to improve myself further, and I was accepted onto the MBA programme with thesis at Izmir University of Economics. Meanwhile, I completed my search engine optimization training and started working as an SEO copywriter in a digital marketing company. During my MBA education, for the sake of improving myself and contributing to the literature, I started to do research in the field of sustainable marketing and digital marketing, which is a very important topic today and which I believe should be further developed. At the beginning of 2022, I finally completed my master’s thesis, titled “Language Abstraction and Fashion Brands’ Sustainability Communication Messages on Social Media” and graduated from my postgraduate education with a GPA of 3. 79/4. 0. When my master’s thesis was accepted for the 39th IBIMA Conference, I felt that I had achieved recognition for my hard work and determination. In addition, I believe that the experience in search engine optimization that I have gained from working as an SEO copywriter in a digital marketing company since 2019 will help me to add more layers to this field. I believe that a global educational institution such as the University of Brighton and this highly regarded department will enable me to be more successful in my current position and to keep abreast of the ever-changing trends in this field. As a postgraduate student, I know very well what my responsibilities will be and I am completely confident that I will successfully handle all the tasks assigned to me. I am excited to be a part of the University of Brighton. I fully believe that my business experience, academic background and determination will be enough for me to be successful in this department, and I sincerely hope that you will consider my application to join your university as an international student.
