In the book “The Giver “, written by Lois Lowry (1993), it has been shown how the story starts with the life which became released from pain, color, crimes, emotions, and love. Also, The way how the daily injection washed away their human being feelings. Everything starts with the main character called Jonas in a ceremony in which every graduated student must be assigned to a job by the Chief Elder that determines them to different works, where Jonas was appointed to be a receiver of the community’s memories who was responsible “The Giver” the old receiver who had been holding memories since the community started developing in such pattern.
The book precisely hitches that there is a similar perspective compared with their community and our society which is the persecution of doing the same job that others do, it can be working the whole week eight hours per day. But in Jonas’s case, it is way more complicated for people who supposed to live without feelings, but it is the pattern of the world is the same as ours. Though, Jonas was indifferent and able to outgrow the matrix in his community including the infringement of rules that everyone must follow. This means that we don’t have to follow the path whereas everyone rather, instead it would be good if you have your own thoughts that you can actually lean on.
After, it also plays a relevant role in people who without emotions able to focus on his/her work easily, it is an advantage for workers who are attempting to focus on one thing. The way how their community was so improved due to the injection made them see the world without any colors just black and white but also to inhibit emotions. However, it was exaggerated because the citizens of the community were likely to be “Robots” due to the rules and laws that there is no fun among youngsters, there is the only obligation of people in front of the government. But working hard without emotions can be good for the person who wants to achieve something.
