Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Toxicology

Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Toxicology Al5Yx
I would like to express my interest for a position in the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Toxicology offered at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health from University of Livingstonia and run a research social enterprise known as Armref Data for Action in Public Health Research Consultancy, in Malawi. Furthermore, I attained certificates in toxicology from United States of America Toxicology Mentoring and Skills Development Training Program. Previous I conducted a toxicological investigation on tobacco harm reduction in Malawi while I was a consultant and systematic review technician with Malaria Eradication Scientific Alliance-ISGlobal conducting systematic reviews on malaria elimination strategies, and recently been appointed as one of the social network analysis project lead for Society for Research on Nicotine and Tobacco - Health Disparities Network Evaluation Subcommittee which involve research evaluations, writing in the sciences and communication. My career interests are in toxicology, and maximizing people’s choices, use and access to essential medicines and health information which continue to be a challenge in Malawi, especially to the rural poor. Thus, toxicology techniques would be essential in the implementation science of drug recycle, reuse, and reduction to achieve universal health care and a drug self-sufficient nation. Absence of information on peoples use and understanding of medicines to contribute additional information for disease prevention, evaluation, treatment, and monitoring exposures to drugs, chemicals, and biological agents, in epidemiological, clinical and toxicological data continue to strengthen pathogens and neurodegenerative disorders occurrence, in Malawi and beyond. Globally, the health care system is changing from experience/clinical to preventive/research evidence based interventions, thus a need for people with the right skillset to understand humanity and preventative medicine. So, the master would aid in nurturing medicinal needs assessment techniques of beneficiaries to support elimination and eradication of diseases, case management, essential drugs allocation, tracing, and wastage minimisation. Further, the entitlement would assist in the enhancement of skills in developing and implementing innovations that would alleviate bottlenecks in treatments, and enhance people’s access to efficacious interventions in the fields of infectious diseases, cancer and care science. Apart from that, the program will apt skills in conducting operational and analytical research, and documentation of evidence based interventions that would support in health research management, policy development, health economics and decision making. Being in a collegiate stimulating environment will enable me to network with similar minded people. People who believe in research as the heart of knowledge, and development through the provision of innovation, accurate and reliable data on adverse effects deriving from exposures from medications, drugs of abuse, natural substances, and other chemicals, to transform and safeguard livelihoods of every community member, whilst fostering access to essential medicines and healthcare information, through research and innovation that dig deep enough, and challenge the status quo of diseases.
