Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People care more about public recognition than about money. Even if no more money is given, public recognition can still make people work harder.

it goes without saying that, lots of efforts are done in companies in order to increase the level of employee engagement, and enthusiastic of the employee for work. In this regard, while numerous decision-makers believe that money plays an important role in encouraging individuals to work harder, others stand on the other side stating that public recognition is more vital for people in their job than the amount of money they obtain. I agree with the second group and I will clarify my reasons below.
First and foremost, people want their efforts have been seen in the company. When they admire by their boss, they feel they have improved the company condition and they have made a difference. As a result of thanking employees, the amount of dopamine (reward hormone) directly increases in their blood which convinces the brain to make a connection between working harder and experiencing the positive feeling. moreover, this mental change force individual to accept even voluntary tasks. This is the reason why some prosperous companies have a regular plan for introducing skillful employees to others.
More importantly, people may accept a job for money at first, but public recognition is the fuel to continue. According to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, humans have different levels of needs from basics to self-fulfillment needs. Money can provide our basic needs including food, shelter, and so forth, while we require to be recognized and respected by others which is not afforded by money. Consequently, after earning the proper amount of money, employees work harder to provide for their further requirements in life.
In the end, due to the aforementioned arguments explored in the previous paragraphs, I am of the opinion, people consider public recognition as an essential element in their business rather than money due to the physiological effects of public recognition and meeting our self-fulfillment needs.
