Wasting of fast food is on the rise today. This has mainly been caused by their increased availability and low-quality levels. Fortunately, these problems can be solved by coming up with laws and regulations and encouraging restaurants to prepare high quality food. Increased availability and poor quality of food has led to increased wastage. This is because, food stores are increasing in number and have even gone extra mile to set up online delivery services. In addition, there shops sell poorly cooked unhealthy food as a result of increased demands. For instance, every mall in Nairobi has at least five food courts, which supplies food to most personnel inside the mall or at home through online delivery services and there have been instances where customers have posted photos online complaining of poorly cooked chicken. As a result of these, disposal of these meals has increased. Regulation of the amounts and quality of food produced by restaurants will help tackle this problem. The government should set a limit on the number of food stores that should be established at a particular region and provide licences to shops that make high quality and revoke them from those with bad reviews. For example, if restaurants made tasty food, people would really feel bad disposing and would share with friends or store it instead of throwing it away. Thus, if these solutions are put into action, the rates of food wasting will decline. To sum up, poor quality food and easy availability of food can be solved by restricting the number of suppliers and encouraging them to make healthy and quality meals.
