Most high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 per cent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women. To what extent do you agree?

Most high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 per cent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women. 526QN
Gender inequality is a debatable topic in many parts of the world. In developed nations more than half of workers are female, inspite of this the executive positions are mostly occupied by males. It is argued that some number of positions should be allocated for females. I completely disagree with this idea, because position should be filled according to the level of skills and women have many other home responsibilities. Employers want to hire the most skillful and talented person for the position they are offering. If companies start dividing the position on gender background then it would make the hiring process more difficult and skills will be left far behind the gender in selecting a candidate. For instance, limiting seats for women will pressurize the hiring committee to appoint a person with less qualification and experience just because of her XX chromosomes. On other hand, if the same position is open to all candidates irrespective of gender the company would benefit from more skillful men. Women play a major role in the community, they have many responsibilities for their growing children. For this reason, many ladies do not prefer to work or give away their carrier after having a family. For example, in Asian countries, many doctors quit their jobs after getting married. If we limit the quota for females in a hospital, so it will lead to many vacant positions. As a result, patients would be left untreated and the community will suffer. In conclusion, I believe positions should be opened for applicants without any reservation related to gender. This may leave the company at a loss of competent manpower, and country will suffer.
