A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience. Write at least 250 words.

A person’s worth nowadays seems to be judged according to social status and material possessions. Old-fashioned values, such as honour, kindness and trust, no longer seem important. with this opinion? MwM0k
In today’s generation, a person’s value gets evaluated upon their social status and material possessions. Whereas, things like honour, trust and kindness are over-looked. I personally, agree with this statement. According to me, in this era no matter how good someone is as a person, that quality of his or her gets over shadowed, the moment people get to know that they are conventionally not good in the financial sector of their career. In the following paragraphs, I will be going more into details as to why I solely support this statement stated. In this ever-growing world, where life is getting materialistic day by day, the basis for one’s value of respect in the society is also getting changed in not so good way. The conventional old-fashioned values, such as how humble a person is or how kind and trustful a person is, is slowly getting removed out as a factor to define somebody’s value in today’s generation. Which is so wrong. For example, a person might be a very rich and powerful, but that is not a good thing when that person has a crooked brain, because power in the wrong hands is certainly something nobody wants. Another thing which leads me to this belief of mine is that, from my experience people mostly tend to take the side of the person who has a high social status, whenever a conflict occurs. Moreover, nobody really wants to hear the other side of the story, especially when the other side is way below on their social status, comparatively. Although, a person’s worth can be decided on their social status and material possessions. But this can only be done till some extent. This should not be the sole factor of decisiveness. At last I would like to conclude by saying that, the fact that today mostly people’s value is getting inextricably linked with their social status is excruciatingly so wrong. This should be a factor, but not the only main factor to deicide their worth.
