Nowadays most teachers are showing a preference to punish their students in different ways while teaching them. While this method of giving punishments might be advantageous in teaching, it can possibly bring negative sides. On the one hand, there are two main benefits of using punishments in education. One of them is that it probably urges to be responsible for their studies and obeying the rules in school. Next positive side is that preventing to repeat the infraction. It means that the students have a tendency to avoid doing again the same offences after being punished. They are less likely to make their mistakes in the long run. On the other hand, there exist several negative sides of punishments. They are tend to be harmful for students' intrinsic motivation. Students might begin being afraid of punishments. In a result, they may loose their a willing to go to school because of negative view of school. The another disadvantageous side is that punishment lead to a lack of the trust and respect between teachers and students. By this, sudents may act various irreleveant actions to their teachers. In conclusion, however there appear a few good sides of receiving the punishments for the learners such as making liable, there are negative sides including their self- confidience and respect
