Many people have learned a foreign language in their own country; other have learned a foreign language in the country in which it is spoken. Which is better? Give the advantages if each and support your viewpoint. Nnond
Learning a foreign language is a great challenge for many people. Some people learn a new language as a hobby, while others learn for their career. Personally, I believe if some one has to learn a foreign language for career, then it should be better to learn in the country in which it is spoken. I feel this way for two reasons, which I will explore in the following essay. To begin with, learning a language in the country in which it is spoken may be more beneficial on the basis of facts that you can learn from native teachers. The true essence of diction and accent can only be experienced in the native country. Also, you hear the language all the time and take short time to get used to this new language; and after short time you start to use this language in daily activities. My personal example is best illustration of this. About a year ago, my brother went to Norway for study and work, and the very first requirement was to speak Norwegian language. When he started, it was very difficult for him because he did not understand anything and the teachers used to spoke in Norwegian language. They did not want to speak English because in that way it would be harder to get used to Norwegian language. They forced him to try to think and speak in Norwegian all the time, since this practice was very effective for him, now he is fluent in their language and can speak like natives. Furthermore, you tend to become more perfect while learning when you keep practicing in your daily life. So, of you learn the language in your home country it is restricted only till in the language class. Since we all know that practice makes a man perfect; we will never be able to perfect a language unless we talk it continously, and this is not possible in the country in which it is not spoken. For instance, if one learn Spanish in Pakistan then he will not be able to remember much, But if he learn Spanish either in Mexico or in Columbia then he will not only grasp the language quickly, also soon be very fluent with this language; since a large population speak Spanish in these cities. Only talking in the particular language repeatedly can help one to become perfect in it. In conclusion, I strongly believe that it is absolutely necessary to learn a language in the country where it is predominately spoken. Only in this way one can become fluent and efficient in that language.
