MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IN ORDER TO HAVE CLEAN AND TIDY STREETS IN THEIR NEIGHBOURHOODS, THIS SHOULD BE RESIDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY, WHILE OTHERS THINK IT SHOULD BE GOVERNMENT'S DUTY. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?

It is thought by many that the individuals are solely responsible to keep their surrounding roads litter free, while others opine that it is ought to be the duty of the state. In my opinion, I believe that the government is the primary responsible for this because the authorities can make litter bins more accessible as well as introduce strict punishment for those who litter irresponsibly. To begin with, more litter bins can be placed in public places including the roads. Establishing adequate waste bins would encourage citizens to litter sensibly which will lead to keep the roads clean and tidy. If people find proper way of disposing waste, they would take their first step to keep their around street clean. To illustrate, city roads are appeared to more waste free than the village streets because the municipalities took actions to place available waste pots along the city roads. Creating public awareness is another method through which the government can perform their duty. In other words, as more people would be concerned about the importance of nit and tidy paths, more it would be possible to have clean neighborhood. The state can organize awareness programs through schools and print media that would lead to make a combined effort of citizens and the authorities to make the roads clean. Finally, the government can keep the roads tidy by introducing harshar (harsher) penalty to those who litter insensibly. Imposing severe punishment would deter individuals to abstain from such act. More street cameras can be established through which the authorities can catch the culprit doing the act. In conclusion, the nation has the authority to take necessary measures like making waste pots more available, promoting general awareness and imposing fine for who are irresponsible to waste disposal. Proper and effective measures taken by the state would ensure cleanliness in roads in the neighborhood.
