It can not be denied that plants are crucial for the environment. While an opinion holds that apartments should be built in the empty areas around the city, I strongly believe that it would be better if growing trees in these areas instead. There are a number of compelling reasons why many individuals stand for constructing housing facilities instead of planting trees in the vacant area of cities or towns. First and foremost, in recent years, the population explosion in those urban locations led to the severe shortage of people’s accommodation. Therefore, limited urban space should be prioritized for human sheltering rather than creating pleasant green parks. This is particularly true in rapidly growing nations such as China and India. Another reason for that viewpoint is that constructing more apartments could force the economy of those cities. To explain, having more quality facilities resulted in the growth of urban’s population, which contributed to creating an enormous attractive market for businesses. Nonetheless, the importance of planting trees transcends house construction. For the city and town residents, trees have aesthetic value. Urban scenery will become more attractive and pleasant if natural green patches are being seen. Planting trees and flowers along with modern architecture makes the living habitat environmentally friendly and promotes visitors proportion. Moreover, plants play a great role in reducing air pollution. In several mega cities as well as industrial zones, large amounts of carbon dioxide were produced everyday from human-social activities such as movement of vehicles and commodity production activities. Trees will take responsibility to purify the air by producing oxygen for human beings and absorbing carbon dioxide, consequently the improvement of air’s quality in those locations. For instance, The Egyptian Ministry of Environment has launched a new initiative to turn building rooftops into green gardens to improve air quality in towns and cities across the country. In conclusion, the importance of housing to meet rising population demands and force the local economy does not overshadow the importance of trees. Towns and cities must naturally balance these concerns to foster better living environments for residents.
